Shah Rukh Khan was recently named a Chubb Fellow at Yale University. The actor also gave a speech for the university students.
However, SRK is not the first Indian celeb to be invited and honoured by an educational institution. CS tells you about some others:
>> India's cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni received an honorary doctorate by De Montfort University in August 2011. Dhoni was praised for his exemplary leadership quality and became an honorary Doctor of Letters. He also agreed to have his brain mapped by The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ranchi. It was a part of the institute’s plans to start a course in neuro-management.
>> Mr Perfectionist Aamir Khan took on the role of a teacher in IIM – Ahmedabad, where he was a visiting faculty in February 2009. He gave a lecture on different aspects of film business, especially in context of India.
>> The beautiful Soha Ali Khan was invited by the acclaimed Harvard University to deliver a lecture on Hindi cinema in an interactive session titled Cinema - Then and Now. Her mom, Sharmila Tagore also joined her during the session that also screened Soha’s films.
