Popular television actress Alka Kaushal, who was recently seen in Salman Khan's 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' (2015), and her mother have been sent to jail for two years in a cheque bounce case by a lower Punjab court

Popular television actress Alka Kaushal, who was recently seen in Salman Khan's 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' (2015), and her mother have been sent to jail for two years in a cheque bounce case by a lower Punjab court.


Alka Kaushal played the role of Kareena Kapoor Khan's mother in 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan'.


According to a report in Hindustan Times, Alka Kaushal and her mother had borrowed Rs 50 lakh from Avtar Singh, a farmer, to make a show but did not return the money. When he demanded his money back, they gave him two cheques of Rs 25 lakh each that bounced, Singh's advocate Sukhbir Singh Punia told the newspaper.

According to the report, Alka and her mom moved the Sangrur court for relief, but the additional sessions judge of the court upheld the lower court's order. They are now in Sangrur district jail.

Alka Kaushal has also worked in TV shows like 'Qubool Hai' and 'Kumkum'.
