Good karma for readers
A new concept bookstore in Bandra allows you to read books on mind, body and soul based on your interest level that a spiritual IQ test will decide
The space includes a collection of 50 titles
Who said only medicines are available via prescription? Karma Korner, a concept by Le Sutra, also offers books by prescription. The spiritual literacy retail outlet, which opens doors at the boutique hotel in Bandra today, houses a collection of 50 titles by Indian and international authors.
The books are focused on mind, body and soul. These include Karma Sutra, The Yoga Vasistha, The Upanishads like the Mandukya and the Kathopanishad, The Yoga Nidra and The Philosophy of Gorakhnath. “These books have been handpicked by Hingori, the author of the Hingori Sutras (published by Le Sutra) and his spiritual associates, who have been involved in spiritualism for over 25 to 30 years,” says Syed Ali of the Le Sutra Group.
If you are wondering which book to buy, take the Spiritual IQ test to determine your spiritual induction level. This test will help the team prescribe the right book for you. The bookstore’s offerings are for four types of readers — the initiated, the inclined, the involved and the intense. “Currently, readers need to take the test on paper but eventually, we will automate and offer it online. The initial level includes books for those who are beginning to have faith while advanced levels work for those who are involved in practices such as philanthropy and mantra chanting, he adds.
At the store launch, open to all, the guests can pot a plant, listen to a flautist play soothing melodies and also savour satvik fare like Avocado Pate With Walnuts, Raw Banana Fries, Sweet Potato Roasties and Pineapple and Sage Juice. The special guest for the evening is Rajvardhan Sinha, Joint Commissioner of Police, Nagpur, who will return with these books for the prisoners in the jails across Maharashtra. Over time, the venue also plans to host fundraisers by NGOs and book reading sessions.
