A young scion of the family is making her debut as Bollywood producer with a detective thriller, Samrat & Co. Kavita Barjatya, daughter of Kamal Kumar Barjatya and cousin of Sooraj Barjatya, is targetting the young audience with Samrat & Co. The film, directed by Kaushik Ghatak, features Rajeev Khandelwal and newcomer Madalsa Sharma.

Says Kavita, “When Kaushikji (the director) narrated the subject to me, it caught my attention. Initially the thought was that it’s a huge risk to take on a new genre of serious detectives. Still we were sure of its suspense and thrill elements and went ahead with the project. The film is 80 per cent complete.”
Kavita began as an assistant to Sooraj Barjatya during his film Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon and later produced TV shows like Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki, Yahaaan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli and Do Hanson Ka Jodaa. Last year, she announced her foray in to filmmaking with Samrat & Co.u00a0
