How acting BCCI chief Jagmohan Dalmiya provided more ammunition to those who feel BCCI's attempt in dealing with the betting and spot fixing scandal is poor...

BCCI on a sticky wicket!

“Let Mr Srinivasan decide. Let Srinivasan take his decision (on who will chair the next Working Committee meeting)”
Jagmohan Dalmiya is still the interim chief of the BCCI. Shouldn’t he be taking that decision since N Srinivasan has not yet been given a clean chit officially?

“It will be discussed in the proper forum which is the IPL Governing Council. The Governing Council will examine the report and accordingly will take a decision”
Why should the Governing Council take a decision when this controversy is beyond the IPL. It concerns the credibility of the entire BCCI. The main members of the BCCI should take this important call.

“We will wait for some time and then proceed accordingly. Sawani is currently on leave because of his son’s marriage. Let him come back.”
This is Dalmiya’s view on the pending probe headed by BCCI Anti-Corruption Unit chief Ravi Sawani. This should have been the BCCI’s priority.

And…
The BCCI ought to have sent out a press release outlining what was discussed at this critical BCCI Working Committee meeting in Kolkata on Sunday. Again, there is scant respect for the need to be transparent in terms of the activities around India’s best-loved sport. Despite the advancements in the game, in many ways, the richest cricket board in the world is run on amateurish lines.u00a0
