The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is trying to send some of India's specialist Test players including Zaheer Khan early to South Africa to get acclimatised to the conditions there. India's three ODIs against SA are on December 5, 8 and 11 while the two Tests are on December 18 and 26.

BCCI is keen to send Zaheer, opener Murali Vijay, No 3 batsman Cheteshwar Pujara, reserve wicketkeeper Wridhiman Saha and spinner Pragyan Ojha, who are part of only the Test squad.
