The Board of Control for Cricket in India is in no mood to alter their decision tou00a0 ban Services from this season's Ranji Trophy after the domestic outfit failed to turn up for a Ranji tie against Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.

However, former BCCI Joint Secretary Jaywant Lele said that the Board's decision to ban Services straightaway is a premature one. "The BCCI may say that they have gone by the rules of the tournament, but there should have been some dialogue. Services should have been given a good chance to spell out their reasons for not turning up. It's a knee-jerk reaction from the BCCI," Lele told MiD DAY from Baroda.

Meanwhile, India's home minister P Chidambaram said the country's cricket rulers should allot fresh dates for the match and accept Services' apology, but the BCCI are sticking to their guns.
