It's time to hit the classroom, again. With stationary being the big talking point among students these days, we've packed in some seriously cool gear to make you the star of the gang at school
There was a time when the only exciting part of going back to school was shopping for new notebooks, with illustrated covers, labels with cool prints and fancy-shaped sharpeners and erasers.
While scourging the gullies around Abdul Rehman Street — the city’s wholesale stationary market this year, we noticed that Angry Birds ruled the roost. Pen-pencils, school bags, ball pens, erasers and our favourite — big sharpeners at Gift Garden opposite Crawford Market. We found interesting schoolbags too, the most attractive being a bag shaped like Spongebob Squarepants. Several stores also sold punchcraft tools and paper strips, the new craft items in the city.

As for compass boxes bigger the better, some even had bubble makers attached to them. With so much on offer, if we were kids we would be rather distracted souls in schools.
Come rain, come shine
With the beginning of school also comes the onset of rains. This pen-pencil mixes both of them, resulting in a cute umbrella pencil.

Play-time
This set of two dice shaped erasers had some game instructions written in Chinese on the back with each number representing something, which we couldn’t figure. We used it as regular dice and it erases quite well, too.
