Bet on confusion
A television screen is supposed to beam the race
After numerous interruptions needed to explain how the game is played, we manage to place a bet. A television screen is supposed to beam the race. When we look up after a while, the race is already on and our runners have finished 2,200 m of the 2,400 m lap! An announcement needs to be made at the start of the race to rectify this problem. The waiters, though, are confused when we ask them to tell us how exactly the winnings work. We have 800 points less than what we should. While the concept may add a real derby dimension, it needs a lot of streamlining and training for the staffers. The result so far is puzzled punter-patrons who are left wondering what this is all about.
