Today is going to be a big day for the former India wicketkeeper MSK Prasad-led senior selection committee as the BCCI is set to submit a progress report on implementing the suggestions of the Justice RM Lodha Committee recommendations to the Supreme Court.

Going against the panel's recommendation of a three-member committee, the Indian cricket board went ahead with its five-member (zonal system) selectors panel.
"I have full faith in God and hope for the best," one of the selectors said yesterday.
On asked whether the non-Test players or only three men as selectors can justify their roles, the selector said, "It is something the board has to decide. It is difficult for me to answer this."
However, the Lodha panel defended its decision to have only three selectors. "It is wrong to presume that the teams would be selected by only three people. "We have also recommended the three-man Talent Scout Committee be formed (apart from three selectors) and hence not three, but six people would be responsible for the selecting of teams," Gopal Sankarnarayanan, the Lodha panel secretary said.
"Even in the present situation, five selectors are unable to watch all domestic matches and there is also a likelihood of one selector bargaining for a player of his zone and hence we have recommended to abolish the zonal selection committee," he added.
"Besides this, there has been no practice (adopted by the BCCI) of elevating the junior selectors to the senior selection committee. We are keeping our fingers crossed on the Supreme Court verdict," he concluded.
