Bipasha Basu: Want to write about loving oneself

Easily one of the fittest in Bollywood, Bipasha Basu has often stressed on the need to adopt a healthy lifestyle. After launching three fitness DVDs, the actor is now writing a book on the subject.

A source close to the development reveals, "The positive response to her DVDs made Bipasha realise that a large section of the population is interested in taking care of their bodies, but are often lacking in direction. She hopes to fill that vacuum with the book. It will include different workout regimens targeted at toning different parts of the body, with an emphasis on kick-boxing and Pilates — the two routines she swears by. She will also reveal her customised diets, ones that she has developed over the years with her trainer and dietitian to attain a lithe frame. It's in the early stages, and is expected to hit the market only next year."

Interestingly, we hear, husband Karan Singh Grover — who shares her passion in fitness — may also pen a chapter in the book. "In one of the chapters, Bipasha will also chronicle her early days in the modelling industry when she was relatively plump, to finally having one of the most enviable bodies in Bollywood," adds the source. Basu confirms, "I want to write about the essence of loving yourself. The mantra is to love yourself and care enough for your body. I firmly believe that you need determination and discipline to live a fit and healthy lifestyle."

While one may assume that penning a book will keep her busy, the actor adds that she will be simultaneously developing her fourth DVD. She adds, "I have been constantly asked to develop new routines that can easily be adopted by people. This DVD will be targeted at the masses — those who are health-conscious but can't afford gym memberships."
