Delhi police on Monday arrested four men who were trying to sell a blackbuck in the posh Greater Kailash locality in south Delhi. According to police, the accused, hailing from Meerut, were caught trying to strike a deal at Rs six lakh for the blackbuck--an endangered animal--in Greater Kailash-1 area.

The blackbuck had been brought to the city in an Indica. Following a tip-off, the police conducted searches and subsequently rescued the animal.

Eid preparations?
"We received information that because of the upcoming festival of Eid next month, some people were trying to sell a blackbuck in Greater Kailash near W-Block Park at an exorbitant price. They had stolen the deer from Sanjay Van in Partapur", a senior police official informed. Officials further said that one of the accused, Pawan, was hired by the other three as driver.
