Blake fires Olympic warning with 9.85s win in Lucerne

Blake is seen as the main threat to defending 100m and 200m Olympic champion Usain Bolt after beating his compatriot in both disciplines at the Jamaican trials.

And in what is expected to be his final outing before the London Games, Blake claimed a comfortable victory in a time that has only been bettered by Bolt (9.76) and 2004 Olympic winner Justin Gatlin (9.80) this season.

The 22-year-old reigning world champion is confident he can continue his superb form in London.

“Definitely I am on the right path for the Olympics,” he said.

“This is where I am supposed to be. I want to remain unbeaten and that’s what I am doing.

“I didn’t come here to run a quick time but it’s still a fast time. Not many guys run 9.85,” he added.u00a0
