In a freak accident, a young woman was killed and her parents injured following a blast in their TV in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur district Monday, police said
Puja Sharma, 22, died on the spot while her parents - Sushil Sharma and Krishna Devi - sustained multiple injuries following the blast in the TV. When the blast took place, all the three were watching a programme on TV in their home in Barra town.

"Investigations indicate the picture tube of the TV exploded. The blast was so intense that a major portion of the room was destroyed," police inspector D.D. Singh told reporters in Kanpur, some 80 km from Lucknow.
