And now the life of the tragic singer is set to be made into a film biopic, with a familiar face vying to play the music legend.u00a0According to reports, Whitney’s daughter Bobbi Kristina is keen to portray her mother — who tragically died by accidental drowning caused by heart disease and cocaine use in February — in the film, which is currently being discussed by a number of studios.u00a0

A source said, “Bobbi feels like she is the perfect person to play the part of Whitney — telling friends that no one knew her better.” The biopic will depict Whitney’s rise to superstardom in the 80s then her descent into drug abuse in the 90s when she married singer Bobby Brown, Bobbi’s father. u00a0

Bobbi is an aspiring actress and has recently been cast in Tyler Perry comedy series For Better Or Worse. However, the chance to play the singer on the big screen in a once-in-a-lifetime role, and Bobbi has some competition in the form of Rihanna, who has also expressed interest in playing the tragic star.

Of the possibility of landing the part, Rihanna said recently, “That would be something I would have to give my entire life to do, because I would really want to pull it off. Whoever does it has to do a good job.”u00a0

Rihanna is already a movie star with the release of her new movie Battleship. Also in the running is Jennifer Hudson, who performed a tribute to Whitney at the Grammy awards, and has already won an Oscar for Dreamgirls.u00a0
