Varun Dhawan's character in 'Sui Dhaaga' revealed

Varun Dhawan who was known for his commercial and masala films is set to star in 'Sui Dhaaga' a social caper based on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Make In India' campaign. The film also stars Anushka Sharma and is slated to go on floors by January 2018. According to a report in DNA, the details of Varun Dhawan's character are revealed. Varun’s character is unlike anything he has essayed before. Says the source, "Varun plays a labourer, a hired help in the film. His look in the film will be in-sync with his character. The film hopes to raise awareness about indigenous cottage industries here in India and also talks about the dignity of labour."

Varun was fascinated by the manner in which director Sharat Katariya recited the story. "Sharat is so passionate about the subject, his narration impressed Varun enough to say yes to the project," says an insider. Sharat, who has earlier directed Dum Laga Ke Haisha, is known for his rustic, earthy touch and Sui Dhaaga will be no different.

This will be the first time that Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma will be paired opposite each other.
