If one goes by the book, love is always in the air -- on the sets, throughout a movie and even in reality shows. 2013 too had a varying dose of that particular emotion thanks to some who were unabashed in their public display of affection as well as those who simply won’t come out to declare their love for each other. Whichever route the filmy stars chose, love is definitely in the air. And HitList rounds up a few of the couples who piqued our interest with their undeniable intimacy...
Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif
The two are clearly in love. But they won’t talk about it. Fair enough. At the same time, they can’t keep us from doing our job. If last year was rife with speculations, this year was full of evidence (yes, photographic too) and only blindness can refute their romance. In all probability, the two are bound to grow stronger in the coming months and whether they like it or not, we’ll be keen to know more as always.

Salman Khan and Lulia Vantur
Sallu and his fascination with fair skin! The bindaas star is never short of link-ups with foreign starlets. The latest in the list is Elli Avram but 2013 also witnessed his unusually frank relationship with the Romanian actress Lulia Vantur. Of course, there were no formal announcements from either end but then pictures speak louder. There’s no confirmation on his relationship status but it’s nice to see he’s busy ‘saving’ himself for the right one.
Armaan Kohli and Tanisha Mukherjee
The only thing that comes close to being common to Armaan and Tanisha is an unsuccessful acting career. They differ on almost on all other accounts: he’s explosive and moody while she is calm and calculative. At least that’s what we figured out from watching the show they are in. And that’s where the Cupid visibly sent that bewildering arrow.
Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone
One never knows what’s going on with Dippy. The actress, who is currently at the top of her game by the sheer merit of her box-office returns, keeps getting serially linked. As of now, the relationship needle points to her Ram-Leela co-star Ranveer Singh. Going by the chemistry they share -- onscreen as well as offscreen -- we shouldn’t be squarely blamed for stating the obvious. To their credit, they look lovely together too.
Kushal Tandon and Gauhar Khan
Irrespective of the drama that goes on in Bigg Boss, one can’t deny that Kushal and Gauhar look adorable together. They not only share a mutual understanding but also seem to be totally in. But only time will tell whether it’s for real. Or not. After all, too many unreal things carry on in reality shows. Let’s wait and watch.
Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli
Since that shampoo ad featuring Virat and Anushka hit the air, there have been tongues wagging all around. Well, why not? The dashing guy who is said to be the heir-apparent to Sachin Tendulkar and the actress who has only grown stronger since her dream debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan make a perfect pitch for imaginative stories. So they did. Besides, nobody nowadays believes “Oh, we’re just friends” that easily.
Harman Baweja and Bipasha Basu
After quite a long lull of apparent singledom when she admitted to us that she’s “living the life of a 18-year-old girl”, the Bengali bombshell is reportedly in a romantic tango with Harman Baweja. The two are said to be close enough to be called lovers. However, neither of the two have confirmed anything yet but we aren’t bad at guessing either.
Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor
Sometimes onscreen love affair translates into offscreen love story. On a similar line, post-Aashiqui 2, Aditya and Shraddha came out as real-life couple. Although the two have been together for sometime now, we never heard a thing about them. No sensational hunt for publicity yet. For a rather young couple, it’s impressive to maintain such low profile. They simply don’t talk about their relationship.
Rani Mukerji and Aditya Chopra
This tie-up is as mysterious as Adi Chopra himself. The painfully reclusive filmmaker is seldom seen, let alone clicked. However, there was a beam of hope in February when Shatrugan Sinha had a Freudian slip (really?) when he referred to the Aiyyaa actress as Rani Chopra. The actor-turned-politician later went on record that he was only stating the truth. All things said and undone, we’ll never know for sure.
Uday Chopra and Nargis Fakhri
While Shahid Kapoor uses Twitter to remind the world that he doesn’t give a damn about grammar (or Grammar Nazis), Uday Chopra used the social media platform throughout this year to confess his love for Nagris Fakhri. The actor-producer was gushing with romance while the model-turned-actress seemed cautious. Nonetheless, it was a cute exchange of words. And we witnessed two celebs not bothering about the voyeuristic world of Internet for a change.
