A day after flying to Chennai to perform the asthi visarjan of deceased wife Sridevi on Friday, Boney Kapoor was spotted in Rameswaram partaking in the ritual along with his family.

Yesterday, celebrities including Aamir Khan with wife Kiran Rao, Kangana Ranaut, Shilpa Shetty and husband Raj Kundra, and Anushka Sharma with cricketer-husband Virat Kohli, among others, gathered at the producer's Lokhandwala residence for a prayer meet. Sridevi's daughter Janhvi's Dhadak co-actor Ishaan Khatter also arrived in an auto.

Sridevi, who passed away on February 24 in Dubai due to "accidental drowning", was cremated with state honours last week. On her 21st birthday on Saturday, Janhvi took to social media to pay a touching tribute to her celebrated actor-mother, stating that until her mother's death, she "didn't have to rely on anyone or anything because the only person I ever needed was you [Sridevi]".
