Borussia Dortmund have signed striker Michy Batshuayi from English Premier League outfit Chelsea on loan, the German football club said.

At the last day of the transfer window, Dortmund have found a successor for departed striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who joined Arsenal after a long back and forth, as Michy Batshuayi joins the "Black-and-Yellows" until the end of the season, reports Xinhua news agency.

"Michy is a young and very interesting striker, who impresses with his high scoring rate. He has proven his exceptional qualities both nationally and internationally," Dortmund's sporting Michael Zorc said.

The Belgium international played from 2014 until 2016 for Marseille before he joined the "Blues" in 2016.

Since his arrival, he has provided seven goals in 32 competitive encounters.

"To achieve my big goal I want to play as much as possible and score many goals. The World Cup takes place in the summer," the 24-year-old striker said.

Borussia Dortmund sit on the 6th place of the standings. Peter Stoeger's men encounter last placed Cologne to open the 21st round in Bundesliga on Friday.
