A four-day weekend notwithstanding, Tiger Shroff-starrer 'A Flying Jatt' failed to set off fireworks at the box office with collections of Rs 29.45 crore. However, it was enough to earn the last place on 2016's top 10 opening weekend grossers. The tenth spot, so far, belonged to Karan Johar's 'Kapoor & Sons' (Rs 26.35 crore in three days).

Trade pundit Taran Adarsh says, "The film has underperformed considering that it had a long weekend to itself. The collections fell by a crore on day two and over the weekend, there was some growth in business, but it didn't take a leap as such."

According to trade-smith Vishek Chauhan, the film, made on an approximate budget of Rs 50 crore, is likely to fizzle out without touching the break-even point.

"As compared to the last Bollywood superhero film, 'Krrish 3' (2013), Flying Jatt is a complete let-down. It got a good start on Thursday (Rs 7.5 crore) given Tiger's goodwill and success of a couple of songs, but the word of mouth has been quite negative," says Chauhan, adding that the collections dropped by 50 to 70 per cent yesterday.

Tiger's last outing, Baaghi, which released earlier this year, had collected R38.58 in its first three-day run.
