In a bizarre incident on Tuesday, a 60-year-old British national was allegedly robbed of his valuables in New Delhi by an acquaintance. A senior police official said the victim, Michael Curtis, had come to India along with a friend a week ago and had been living in hotel Chanchal Delux.

Reportedly, An Indian man, who knew the victim, used to visit him often at the hotel. Curtis, however, could only say that the man was in his 30s and he was not sure of his name.

"On Tuesday, the accused met Curtis in the hotel and offered him sex. Curtis asked him to arrange for a room outside the hotel, as he was staying with a friend. The accused then told him he had a room in his office," said a police official.

The accused then hired an auto-rickshaw and took him to a forest area, nearly a kilometre away from the hotel. "An associate of the accused was already present there. As soon as they reached there, the duo pounced on Curtis. They took his gold chain and other valuables and fled from the area. The victim later called the police," he said.

Curtis told the police he was homosexual and has earlier had sex with the accused. "He is nearly 35 years old. I don't know his name," said the victim. He has now registered an FIR in this respect.
