London: Model and presenter Abbey Clancy was reportedly left 'shaken' and 'traumatised' after she came face-to-face with burglars at her holiday home in the south of France.

According to Daily Mirror, the 30-year-old star was in the house with friends when she was woken in the night by noises to discover intruders rifling through their belongings.

The burglars left empty-handed following the raid.

Her husband, the former England international footballer Peter Crouch, was away working as a pundit for ITV at the Euro 2016 football match between England and Iceland in Paris at the time.

The couple's children — Sophia, 5, and Liberty, 1 — were believed to be in the UK.

"Abbey seemed quite traumatised. She can't stop thinking about what could have happened to them if they hadn't woken up or if the burglars had been armed. Peter has been commuting between Paris and Antibes, but he was in Paris at the time.

"He was horrified someone had broken into the villa and extremely relieved Abbey and her pals were okay. Luckily, Abbey was due to fly to the UK yesterday, so she didn't have to stay in a villa where she would not have felt safe," a source close to Clancy was quoted as saying by The Sun.
