Busy night at YCM Hospital

3 accidents, 1 assault, 2 burn cases reported in two and half hours

The doctors and staff at Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital (YCM), Chinchwad had a busy night yesterday. Three accident cases, one assault and two burn cases were reported between 9 pm and 11.30 pm.

The chief medical officer at YCM Hospital said two accident cases were serious, while the two burn cases were shifted to the Sassoon hospital as they did not have a burn injury ward.

Two men Ajmer Singh (30) and Sagar Bond (34) were hit by a speeding bike, while crossing the road. Both got fractures in the leg and cuts in the body.

The police suspect their statements are not true. A police present on duty said, "One bike hit both of them which is not possible. Both can't get injuries at the same place, we have recorded their statement but they don't match."

In another accident, Sohas Tak (22) was hit by a car while he was riding his bike. He was immediately shifted to the critical ward as his left leg was crushed.

Another man, Pankaj Gada (22) was beaten up by some unidentified men at Chinchwad around 10 pm. He was shifted to the YCM Hospital with head injuries.

Both the women (names withheld) in the two burn cases had got more than 30 per cent burns. Both were reportedly burnt when their cooking stove exploded. They had received injuries on their body and leg. After some immediate treatments, they were shifted to the burn ward of Sassoon Hospital around 12 am.
