Pradnya Walke was shopping with her mother near Chembur railway station when a youth started grabbing her from behind; when she retaliated by beating him, no one came to her aid
A shopping trip to Chembur last evening ended in shock and outrage for Pradnya Walke. The 24-year-old, a former airhostess, was molested by a young man in a busy market place. When she retaliated, not a single bystander came forward to help her.

Walke, a resident of BARC Colony in Chembur, was shopping with her mother opposite Chembur railway station, when she felt someone grab her from behind. She turned around to realise that a boy in his 20s was the culprit. At first she ignored him, only to feel the boy grab her again.
“The third time he touched me, I slapped him hard. I soon realised that no one was coming forward to help me,” said Walke. Walke met with an accident one-and-a-half years ago, after which a rod was inserted in her leg. She has been undergoing treatment since. Walke said that she is planning to lodge an FIR against the boy as well.
