Mumbai's Ashok Gaur and Ratnagiri's Maitryee Gogate clinched the men's and women's titles of the 12th Late Muktar Ahmed Memorial Tournament respectively at Dadar's Vanmali Hall.
Meanwhile, Manu Baria, Radhika Joshi and Abhishek Bharti won the veteran, junior girl’s and junior boy’s crowns respectively in the state-level carrom event.
In the final, Gaur rose to the challenge to upset the top seed Mohd. Sajid 25-17, 5-25, 25-9. The women’s final too witnessed an upset with junior national champ Gogate beating former national champ Sangeeta Chandorkar 25-5, 9-25, 10-25.
