New Year's Eve is when Bollywood brigade makes loads of moolah through private and public events

Rs 1.2 - 2 crore (approx)
Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra's charge per performance

On New Year's Eve, a lot of people are glued to the TV, watching special programmes. And the entire spectrum, from the top notch heroines to the B and C category of actresses and item girls find this the perfect opportunity to fill their purses by stepping into their dance shoes and performing at these shows.

Shooting stars
A source from an event management company reveals, "The fees of actresses and singers become double at New Year's Eve performance. The only exception to the rule is the top most stars like Shah Rukh Khan (he takes approx Rs 4 crore to dance at events), Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor. Their prices become thrice and sometime even more."

Show me the cash, honey
The source further reveals, "Most of the payments are in cash. A full payment in white that happens at corporate shows is not the case here. These shows are mostly organised by private clubs, associations or individuals. Private clubs usually pay in cash. For them, it's making use of black money and for actors it's easy cash."

The rate card
The fee charged by actresses depends on the number of movies and songs they have in their kitty. A source from another event management company reveals, "The A-listers like Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra charge anything between Rs 1.2 to Rs 2 crore for a New Year's Eve performance.

The middle-rung of hotties like Bipasha Basu, Anushka Sharma, Malaika Arora Khan and Mallika Sherawat charge anything between Rs 50 to Rs 75 lakh.

The lower bracket of actresses like Yana Gupta, Sameera Reddy, Neha Dhupia, Koena Mitra and Tanushree Dutta come at the price of Rs 10 to Rs 25 lakh. These actresses have very few or no movie in their kitties and they mostly sustain on the money they make from such dance shows and events."

The clash of the Titans

"Kareena has an upper hand with a chartbuster number like Chammak challo in her kitty but Kat's Sheila Ki Jawaani is in no less demand. So it's a tie between them. Priyanka didn't have a major release this year but with her Don 2 just around the corner, you never know what ace she might have up her sleeve," says a source.
A source from a third event management company tells, "Neha Dhupia is the most sought after actress in her bracket. After negotiations you can get her to perform for Rs 20 lakh. However, a source from another event management company adds, "Yana Gupta is in maximum demand.

She charges around Rs 15 lakh for the New Year show, for two sequences of eight to 10 minutes." News is that the Band Baaja Baaraat-jodi, Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh, whose next film together is up for release, are definitely performing this year-end.

Musically yours!
"While Sunidhi Chauhan is the highest paid among female singers and charges around Rs 35 to 40 lakh per event, Sonu Niigam and Sukhwinder Singh take home the highest amount in the male singers category. They quote prices up to Rs 50 lakh," reveals a source.

Says Vijay Subramanium, Head of the live entertainment division at another event management agency, "After endorsements, live entertainment has become the biggest revenue generator for some celebs, some of whom earn twice their annual endorsement fees just from appearances and performances.
