Sonakshi Sinha was invited by Calcutta based designer duo Dev and Nil for the party thrown in honour of Tomasso Cavalli, son of Roberto Cavalli, in February. He was in India for the launch of a vodka brand. Sonakshi talks to CS about her experience and her idea of style:
My style statement
It's casual. You will see me a lot in jeans and casuals. My style statement is being simple, elegant and comfortable. You can manage to charm anyone with your simplicity if you know how to carry your casual wear with style. I mostly stick to comfort and don't really follow trends.
Designer in me
Being a fashion student, I had always seen these fashion designers on screen and looked up to them. It was great to have met Tomasso Cavalli in person. I have worked with Dev and Nil before, so it was nice to catch up with them as well. However, I would still go for my basics rather than adopting one of the designers' styles. While shooting, I do give my own styling inputs. But I haven't yet taken to styling for myself.
My style icon
It's Rekha ji. She has always been so elegant in whatever she wears. Right from sarees to leather, she can carry off anything with ease. She was a really stylish lady back in her times too.
I like me some dress
My most prized possession would be an Alexander Mcqueen dress. It was super expensive but the fit was so perfect that I just had to get it. Otherwise, I don't really go for dresses much.
Fashion or disaster
What one calls a fashion disaster is very subjective according to me. What I might find outrageous will be gorgeous for someone else. Everybody has his or her own sense of style. But if a particular outfit is criticised by a large population, then that might be called a fashion disaster.
In my wardrobe
You will find a lot of denims, t-shirts, ganjis and gym gear. I workout whenever I get the time. I am a very simple person.
