Manchester United will take on Sunderland at Old Trafford in the English Premier League today. "He has been so successful that he must certainly go down as the greatest manager that there has ever been," United director Sir Bobby told Goal.com.

"I know I played under Sir Matt Busby but that is a fact. You only have to look at his incredible record to see that is the case because he has won a phenomenal amount of trophies at the club.

"I am very pleased because he has made life a lot easier for everyone concerned with Manchester United and his 25th anniversary in charge at Old Trafford deserves to be celebrated because I think it will prove to be unique, especially with most managers only lasting on average just a few years nowadays.
"As for how long he should stay in charge at Old Trafford that is a question that others should put to him. But as far as I am concerned, he should carry on in the job for as long as he wants." United have won the Premier League 12 times and triumphed in five FA Cup finals under the 69-year-old Sir Alex's auspices as well as winning the Champions League twice and finishing as runners-up to Barcelona on a couple of occasions.
"He is brave with his decision-making, he has the right work ethic and everything else that a successful manager should have," Sir Bobby added. "He is a good motivator, tactically astute and as well as having an eye for a player he is adept at developing players when they are here as the likes of Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes have shown.
Law saluted Sir Alex's ability to evolve the club. "Sir Matt built three great teams - the 1948 team that I didn't see, the '58 team that unfortunately was involved in the Munich air disaster, they would have dominated for quite a few years, and then he built the '68 team.
"The great thing about Alex is that success has not changed him. He is just the same now as he was when he first arrived at Old Trafford. He sets a great example to everyone around him."u00a0
