The newly-elected managing committee of the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) which met yesterday for the first time got into action straight away with regards to Sachin Tendulkar's 200th Test which is scheduled to be played at the Wankhede between November 14-18.
They deliberated on the pricing of tickets for the Test and it is learnt that the cheapest tickets for the Sunil Gavaskar Stand (lower tier) would cost Rs 500. The upper tier seats would be priced at Rs 1000.
Seats in the Vithal Divecha Stand will cost Rs 1500 while tickets for the Vijay Merchant Stand, North Stand and SachinTendulkar stand would cost Rs 2500. Tickets for foreign fans will cost Rs 2000 in the North Stand.u00a0
A 15-seater and 20-seater air-conditioned corporate box would cost Rs five and seven lakh respectively. The source said that president Sharad Pawar is keen to name the newly-opened Kandivli clubhouse after Tendulkar.
He has also decided to give a painting of Tendulkar to the iconic batsman. “He will ask the batting maestro to select the painting.
He already has so many mementos, so that is why it was decided to give a painting which will be unique,” the source said. Pawar will address the media today to throw more light on MCA’s preparation for Tendulkar’s farewell Test.u00a0
