Actor Pooja Banerjee, who will be playing in Anand Misha and Ekta Kapoor’s MTV BCL as part of Sunny Leone's Chennai Swaggers, says that she has always been fond of playing sports and is thrilled to have got this opportunity. The actor says that she was not able to play last time and will make sure to be part of the tournament this year. “It’s fun to be an artist and a sports person at the same time. Being a sports enthusiast myself, there is no reason why I shouldn’t choose to play. I was a part of BCL last time too but I was shooting in Himachal and Kashmir for one month and during which the tournament happened. This time I want to play for my team. I find Chennai Swaggers to be strong and as well fun,” she says.

Pooja shares a great equation with the rest of the team. “I am close to our Captain, Abhishek, Tanya and Vishal Singh. I keep cracking jokes while playing with them,” she says.

The actor says that it is tough to take out time to practice because of other long schedules. “It is tough especially after shooting for more than 12 hours. We get time only after pack up and that is after 9, so get only two hours practice. But it’s fun, so I don’t mind,” she says.

Where stamina and energy level are concerned, Pooja has already got it covered. “I haven’t started rigorous training, but since I keep swimming I think I have that stamina already,” she says.

Ask her what will be their biggest challenge, and she says, “I think it is important to be focused while playing against our friends. The most challenging matches will be against Delhi Dragons and Mumbai Tigers,” she says.

Pooja’s association with sports started during her childhood days. “As I kid, I was more of a basketball and football person but I like cricket now. In fact, BCL was the reason for me liking the sport,” she says.

Ask her all-time favorite cricketer, and she says, “I like Rahul Dravid, I have always loved his way of playing cricket and the fact that he so humble is just amazing,” she says.
