Christmas comes early to Navi Mumbai thanks to a celebration meant for pooches and pet lovers
An animal behaviourist, vet, and nutritionist will be in attendance
If you've been among those who've fretted about the lack of pet-friendly spaces in Navi Mumbai and its suburbs, here's something to cheer you up. You can take your furry friend out to celebrate Christmas in style at Santa Paws, an event being hosted by Navi Mumbai-based pet event curator Bark Social.

Bark Social was founded earlier this year by three friends who are animal lovers. "Navi Mumbai doesn't have too many spaces where you can go out with your pets. We wanted owners to be able to make their pets even more a part of their social life, and get non-pet owners used to the presence of animals in everyday settings," says Revika Amo, one of the co-founders.

The first event for pets was held in March, and received enthusiastic response. This time around, Bark Social has tied up with a bigger venue in Vashi, Mojo's Bistro, which provides a stunning view and a cool breeze from its rooftop location. "The summer and monsoon have come and gone. The weather now is great; besides it's Christmas — what better time to hold our second event?" says Amo.
At the upcoming event, your pooches can make new friends, try fun games like musical chairs, and participate in a best-dressed contest titled Santa's Little Helper, while you indulge in some canine Christmas shopping and bond with other pet parents. The best part, of course, is the Christmas brunch, which both you and your pooch can dig into. There will also be talk sessions scheduled through the day with an animal behaviourist, a nutritionist and a vet.
