The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) yesterday arrested two CIDCO officials while they were accepting bribe of Rs 50,000 from a lawyer.

According to an ACB official, advocate Vandana Jadhav was trying to procure conveyance deed for her clients’ building — Sri Ganesh Society in Ghansoli — since the past 18 months.

However, CIDCO Estate Officer Sanjeev Dhole (45), and Office Assistant Sunanda Gaikwad (51), demanded Rs 1 lakh from her to issue the same. After much negotiation, a deal was struck for Rs 50,000. “We had set a trap and nabbed them red-handed,” said Ujwal Vaidya, police inspector, ACB, Thane.
