The CISCE Board had conducted the ICSE (Indian Certificate of Secondary Education) and ISC (Indian School Certificate) Board Examinations for both Class 10 and 12 students successfully. While the ICSE Board examination began on 29 February 2016, the ISC Board exam started on 08 February 2016. The ICSE Exam concluded on 31 March 2016, whereas the ISC Exam continued for almost 02 months and ended on 08 April 2016. Since the successful completion of board exams, CISCE has been working towards bringing out the results on time.

Much to the joy of students, the CISCE Board is likely to declare both the ICSE Result and ISC Results online two weeks ahead of the general schedule. This was made possible due to the new Live Ink Character Recognition (LICR) implemented by the CISCE. The LICR technique captures the marks entered on top of answer sheets and transforms them into digital data. Following this, the ICSE Result marks data is encrypted and uploaded to the CISCE servers safely. Implementation of LICR technique has helped in speedy processing of CISCE Result data and ensured that ICSE and ISC results come out ahead of time. As per the CISCE chief executive and secretary Mr. Gerry Arathoon, this is the first time that LICR technique has been used for evaluation of board exams in the world.
