The visit will be the Barcelona defender's first to the South American country. They will be officially on holiday after Barcelona's game against Espanyol tonight. Barça will still have a Copa del Rey game against Hercules, but coach Luis Enrique will give some of his players a game off and they won't have to return till January 4.
Pique's participation in the Catalan national team's game against Tunisia in Girona on December 28 is now in doubt.
Looks like he has decided to spend some time with the family and take a little time off from football.
