Raising the money
Khan allegedly convinced the complainant that they would purchase his friend’s flat jointly as he alone was unable to come up with the money for it.
The police said Khan came to the city to collect token money from the complainant. u00a0“After collecting Rs 75,000 in cash from the complainant, both had planned to go to Mumbai so that she could see the flat,” PSI S N Hulwan from the Wanowrie police station said.

“When they met on October 20, Rijwana took the Rs 75,000 from her home and ornaments from the IDBI branch of Wanowrie. Later they both went to Satara to collect her ornaments from the Sainik Sahakari Bank there. After collecting ornaments worth Rs 2.35 lakh, they came back to Pune. When they were near Wanowrie, Arif got off the taxi to take an auto and ran away with the bag containing gold jewellery and cash.

When the complainant contacted him on his mobile, he assured her things were all right and asked her to come back home. But as he failed to return, Bargir filed a complaint.” u00a0Hulwan said the woman had not noted down Khan’s address or other details. u00a0
