Officials of the Indian Boxing Federation are finding it difficult to communicate with their counterparts in the AIBA, as the sport's parent body stands firm on its provisional suspension of its Indian arm
Indian body (IABF) was suspended for “possible manipulation” of elections that were held in September with the AIBA asking them to now hold a re-election and amend its constitution to make it compliant with the AIBA Statute.
However, the re-election process has been hampered with the world body is refusing to correspond with the new office-bearers of IABF.

According to PTI sources, AIBA is insisting on interacting only with members of the old IABF, that had Abhay Singh Chautala as President and Brig PKM Raja as Secretary General. The AIBA, it is learnt, is only responding to emails sent by Raja, who is current the senior vice-president of the Indian body. Raja had recently met AIBA president Dr Ching-Kuo Wu in Yerevan, Armenia and discussed the Indian body’s suspension.
“The AIBA is just not responding to mails sent by the new Secretary General (Rajesh Bhandari). It’s a peculiar situation because we have to seek clarifications and coordinate things with AIBA to hold the re-election and amend the constitution,” an IABF official said.
