The Bihar unit of the Congress on Wednesday suspended Sadhu Yadav for criticising the national leadership of the party for passing the women's reservation bill.

A show cause notice has also been served, said a party leader. Yadav, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad's brother-in-law and a former MP, had on Tuesday termed the bill anti-Muslim, anti-Dalit and anti-OBC (Other Backward Classes).

Yadav had joined Congress last year after deserting the RJD.

The women's reservation bill giving 33 per cent representation to women in the Lok Sabha and state legislatures was passed in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday.
