Foodies have much to cheer as Studio Fifteen, a culinary centre launches today. The space will host workshops, pop-up meals and corporate training sessions

While culinary classes abound in the city, Pooja Dhingra of Le15 Patisserie has started a new culinary centre, called Studio Fifteen. Earlier, Le15 offered limited baking workshops over theweekends.

Studio Fifteen’s calendar is choc-a-bloc with workshops that range from learning how to bake tarts, the art of Instagramming food, Parsi cooking, techniques of making cocktails to healthy cooking. Speaking about the new venture, Dhingra shares, “When I set up the Le15 Patisserie kitchen in March 2010 the plan was to run baking and cooking classes out of it. And we did exactly that, with weekend classes every month for three years.

Studio Fifteen will offer courses on cooking, food presentation and more

Then, a point came where I felt that we could do a lot more with a kitchen space that was dedicated to culinary workshops. I started looking for this dream space two years ago; eventually, I found it right next to the Le15 Kitchen.”

Apart from workshops, they will also conduct private lessons, corporate training sessions, pop-up meals and chef collaborations. “Our classes will be aimed at everyone who just wants to learn how to cook or bake in a fun atmosphere. Plus, Studio Fifteen will have a small store, where you can buy ingredients that are difficult to source in Mumbai,” she adds.

Interestingly, the new venture also includes peripheral activities such as food design, blogging about food, food presentation, microwave cooking, etc. “While food remains at the heart of Studio Fifteen, we are excited to explore newer avenues and encourage cross-pollination of ideas and disciplines. The mission of this new space is to encourage people to absorb and share knowledge,” she maintains.

Studio Fifteen has a team of food experts, bloggers, chefs and writers who will share their knowledge through classes.
