On Wednesday, the sleuths of the Anti-Narcotic Cell (ANC) arrested four people, including a bookie, for placing bets on the Rajasthan Royals and Hyderabad Sun Risers IPL match, which was played in New Delhi
The cops raided a plush housing society in Waggaon Sherri and seized 11 mobile phones, two TV sets, and a laptop.
The arrested bookie has been identified as Ahmed Khoja alias Guddu (34), a local resident. The other people arrested by the police are Azim Aziani (26), Hussein Sangaliwala (31), and Altaf Lakhani (46) — all three are city businessmen.

According to police, they received specific inputs that the betting racket was active in the society. When the cops raided the flat, it was locked from outside. However, when the broke opened the apartment, the found the accused there.
Inspector Sunil Tambe of ANC said, “Guddu a bookie from the city, was in touch with a Mumbai-based bookie named Nandu from whom he was receiving bets on the match.”
He added that Nandu is also wanted by the Mumbai Police, and is on the police radar. “If he’s arrested, a major betting racket can be unearthed,” he said.u00a0
