Officials of the Crime Branch Unit II arrested two persons and confiscated a consignment of arms comprising five pistols, four revolvers, two country made firearms and 80 cartridges in Hadapsar yesterday morning.
The officials said all the firearms had ‘Made In USA’ embossed on them to fool naïve buyers that the weapons had been imported from the US.

The arrested persons were identified as Sohansingh Ramgadia (29) of Dattawadi and Yogesh Shinde (32) from Hadapsar.
“We received information that these two suspects would be coming to Gadital on Wednesday and we laid a trap. Around 10 am, we spotted the duo with a plastic bag,” PI of Unit II Sunil Patil said.
Patil said during interrogation the duo said they had come to the area in search of a prospective buyer.
