Police have put together a team in their search for the monster mother who sold her 12-year-old daughter into flesh trade for money
The police team, comprising Chakan police officials, has been dispatched to Parali in Beed district to trace Shamal - the mother of the minor.

Police Inspector Sushil Kadam said, “We have formed a team to nab Shamal from Parali. The team will reach Beed on Wednesday and simultaneously Sangeeta’s whereabouts are also being traced.”
Meanwhile, the Chakan police have detained one of the accused in the case, and are of the opinion that with the arrest of Shamal and her accomplice Sangeeta, more information will emerge about the gang.
MiD DAY had reported the incident (‘12-year-old girl gang-raped repeatedly after monster mom sold her into flesh trade,’ October 1) wherein the matter came to light. Shamal had sold her daughter to a pimp, following which he and his friends had repeatedly raped her.
The minor girl was later sold to a tamasha kendra in Khed, where she was forced to perform during the shows. The minor had managed to free herself from the kendra’s clutches and had reached Pune railway station on Sunday night.
The case was initially registered at Bundgarden police station, under whose jurisdiction the railway station falls. But, the matter was later transferred to Chakan police station, as the kendra -- where the alleged offences were committed -- is under their jurisdiction. u00a0
