Resume making is an art, so, master it. >> A comprehensive, professional resume should have a quick but effective insight into who you are and what you have accomplished.

>> Don't feel shy to highlight key points. You need to promote yourself.
>> If you are good at something, you need to talk about it (the first place being your biodata).

Things to do to get the job interview
Make your network work: Your network consists of hundreds of people, thanks to the global village we live in and the Internet networks that have brought us all closer together.

The people in your network may not know that you are looking for a job. It is up to you to contact them and let them know what you are seeking.

Register yourself on job portals and attend job fairs: When attending a job fair, carry all pertinent documents including copies of your resume and degree certificates.

Make an effective cold call: Cold calling is the process of contacting recruiters via telephone, who were not expecting such an interaction to occur. The keys are: Be as brief and effective as possible, sound confident, be prepared.

Questions to have answers for
>> Tell me something about yourself.
>> Why do you want a career in ...?
>> What are your strengths?
>> What are your weaknesses?
>> Why should we hire you?
>> Why do you want to work for us?
>> What skills do you have that will allow you to perform this job well?

To do on the day of the interview
Give your body and mind a boost: Don't eat anything with garlic unless you plan on brushing your teeth or using a mouth freshener. Don't eat anything that leads to bloating or gastric troubles.

Freshen up before the interview: Regardless of how much time you have spent getting ready for the interview at your home or hotel, after reaching the place of the interview, freshen up.

Make eye contact: For those of you who are really uncomfortable with making eye contact, here's a tip: Try looking at the interviewer's bridge of the nose or eyebrow.

Beware of the stress interview: Interviewers will want to test your ability to withstand difficult situations and manage stress. They can't put you in an actual simulated environment, but they will apply stress by asking personal or intrusive questions to push your buttons and see how well you handle yourself.
