London: India's historic 95-run win over England at Lord's on Monday elicited reaction from the cricketing fraternity with most praising India and Ishant Sharma for a sterling effort and critiquing England.

Legendary Australian spinner Shane Warne on Monday said India "bullied and bounced" out England to earn their first win at Lord's since 1986.

"Horrific hour for Eng. India bullied & bounced them out. Remember Eng won the toss on the greenest pitch ever & blew it, changes needed!!" tweeted Warne, referring to the bouncers bowled by Indian pacers, especially Ishant.

India won the second Test at the 'home of cricket' by 95 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the five-match series against England. The first test at Trent Bridge resulted in a draw.

The last time India won a Test at Lord's was when Kapil Dev's men defeated England in 1986.

The former leg spinner also praised pacer Ishant, who achieved career best figures of 7/74, for getting left-hander Moeen Ali out off a bouncer on the last ball before lunch.

"Great 1st session at Lords today & an awesome delivery from Sharma last ball before lunch. Also, I donated my plaster cast to the Lords museum - weird item, but fun!" added Warne.

Former India batsman Sanjay Manjrekar said India were deserving winners. "Eng may have comitted harakiri after lunch but Ind was the better side over 5 days. Deserving winners," tweeted Manjrekar.

Former India opener Aakash Chopra said, “This is it. 28 years for a win at Lord's. Best Test win under Dhoni's captaincy. Lost the toss, not the plot. New era has started. Kudos.”

The Delhi lad though threw in a word of caution. Pointing out that seven of the cricketers in this Indian team weren't even born when India won in 1986, he expressed the hope that the next win at Lord's wouldn't take that long. "7 of the Indian playing XI weren't even born when India won at Lord's in 1986. Hope we don't have to wait this long for the next win," he tweeted.

He had a special word of praise for Ajinkya Rahane, whose brilliant 100 set up the match for India. "At times what happens on day-1 is forgotten by day-5 in the euphoria of the win...it wouldn't have happened without Rahane's ton. Brilliant."

On Ishant's match-winning spell, he said, "This is the best bowling effort by an Indian fast bowler that I've seen...privileged. It's in 'that' league. Take a bow, Ishant."

Meanwhile, left-arm pacer Rudra Pratap Singh, who is currently out of the team, said this was their greatest overseas win.

"India's greatest overseas win. Well done team india," tweeted Singh, who last played a Test for India in 2011.
