Danny Denzongpa, Amrita Singh on television?
The talented actors have been approached to play pivotal roles
Danny Denzongpa and Amrita Singh have been approached for small screen outings. While Bollywood’s suave villain has been offered a role in the mytholocial show Devon Ke Dev... Mahadev, Amrita has been apparently offered a role in writer-director-producer Imtiaz Punjabi’s upcoming show. Amrita and Danny’s show are on the same channel.
While TV may be a new calling for Danny, Amrita featured in Ekta Kapoor’s show Kavyanjali in 2005.
Says a source, “Danny has been approached to essay the role of a villain in Devon Ke Dev... Mahadev. The makers wanted a powerful personality to play the character. They were keen to take a known face. They felt Danny was the best suited for the role as the track will soon unfold in the north-east.”
Adds the source, “Danny has asked for a bound script. He has said that he will get back soon.”
The makers are, however, hopeful that he will be part of the show which has telly actor Mohit Raina essay the title role.
While Amrita who was last seen on the big screen in Aurangzeb is being considered for a pivital role in Punjabi’s soap.
Says an informer, “She is aware of the working style of a television show. The makers have etched an interesting role for her.”
Poonam Dhillon is also said to be back on TV and has been approached for a show produced by Kinnari and Jay Mehta. Poonam, who featured in Bigg Boss 3, has done television a while back when she featured in Kittie Party which aired in 2002.
