London: Football great David Beckham has one more reason to be extremely proud of his better half, Victoria.

The former Spice Girl tops the list of Britain's 100 entrepreneurs drawn up by Management Today magazine.

"Step forward Victoria Beckham, former Spice Girl, part of a glorious power couple with footie legend husband David, and for us a supremely talented entrepreneur in the fashion business.
Her Victoria Beckham operation, fresh from the triumphant opening of its first shop in London's Mayfair, has grown from £ 1m turnover to £ 30m in the past five years, and staff numbers are up from three to 100 in the same period," said a report on the magazine's website.
Victoria's wealth is listed at 210m pounds. Next on the list is Amit and Meeta Patel from the pharmaceutical industry.
"Some will say she's ( Victoria) never been taught how to cut a pattern, or iron a pleat on a fashion course... Doubters will claim she's just the wife of the world's most famously over- tattooed exfootballer. It's all come to her far too easily," editor Matthew Gwyther was quoted as saying by BBC.
But he stressed that "celebrity has long been a powerful commercial tool" and called Victoria "an adept exploiter of her own celeb value."
Jobs factor
The magazine dwelled on the job opportunity factor: "Even more importantly, the MT 100 are the real job creators. In five years, they have added more than 61,556 employees to their payrolls, taking their head count to 158,189.
This represents a 64% rise, and shows that in the critical area of productivity. Our MT 100 members are right on top of their game."
