There was bad news for bottom-placed Deccan Chargers on the eve of their Indian Premier League-V (IPL-V) match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Chinnaswamy Stadium here on Saturday.
According to coach Darren Lehman, South African batsman Jean-Paul Duminy is a doubtful starter for tomorrow’s crucial outing. Lehman said his side might be languishing at the bottom of the table, but they would try their best to collect some points in the tournament. “Duminy is nursing an injury. It depends on how he pulls up after the nets,” Lehman said.

“We would like to field the best combination in tomorrow’s match depending on the nature of the pitch. Daniel Christian had done well for us in the last game against Chennai Super Kings. It depends which way we go.” The former Australia batsman added that Deccan would be making some changes in the batting order keeping in mind the pacy and bouncy nature of the Chinnaswamy pitch.
“I have seen the pitch. It looks fast. Pace and bounce in it is normal. It is a good wicket as expected,” Lehman said.u00a0Meanwhile, following their loss to Kings XI Punjab, RCB have a chance to get back to winning ways. RCB, who are placed sixth with nine points, would look for two crucial points on Sunday. RCB’s bowling has been a concern from the beginning as their skipper Daniel Vettori has not made much of an impact while seamers Zaheer Khan and Vinay Kumar have also not been up to the mark. The batting has been too reliant on the big-hitting Chris Gayle with Virat Kohli, Sourabh Tiwary and Mayank Agarwal.u00a0
