When the occupants of a room in Jogeshwari (West) perceived blood leaking from their ceiling, they immediately informed the police. Oshiwara cops found a body in decomposed state in the rented house at Verma chawl on Wednesday. The deceased has been identified as Saroj Kamti (35), a native of Darbhanga, Bihar. The police suspect he died three days ago. The officers said that they reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem to Cooper Hospital.

Was it murder?
“There was a deep visible injury on the man’s head. We are awaiting the post-mortem report to confirm whether the man was murdered,” said Narsingh Sherkhane, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Zone IX). The officers said that Kamti had been working at a dosa stall outside Infiniti Mall in Andheri (West) and had been living in the chawl for the past two months.

“We have registered a case of murder and are investigating further,” added Sherkhane. Sources in the police station said that while the man’s first wife stays in Mumbai, he had been staying along with his second wife. The police are now tracing both the women. The locals said that the man’s house had been locked from outside and that they had seen him last entering the place on Diwali along with his first wife.u00a0
