The high court set aside a trial court’s order that imposed restrictions on the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) meeting scheduled for September 25.u00a0Giving a go-ahead to the board, Justice VK Shali said: “So far as appeal of the BCCI is concerned, it is allowed.”

The judge also dismissed Modi’s cross-appeal against the decision of the trial court which had declined to pass an interim order on his plea challenging the appointment of Sanjay Patel as secretary and Jagmohan Dalmiya as the interim chief of the cricket board by N Srinivasan.

Rejecting the arguments of Modi’s lawyer who questioned the appointment of Dalmiya and Patel, the court said: “Srinivasan continues to be the president of the BCCI and he is also vested with some power to appoint them as functionaries of the board.”

Challenging the trial court’s on September 21 order that restrained BCCI from holding its SGM, the board had moved the high court saying the trial court had no jurisdiction to pass such an order.u00a0
