Apart from rumour of a clash at the Chandra Layout, no other mishaps were reported owing to the high police presence. The high alert areas, which were mentioned yesterday, have also not reported of any tension.
At 4.30 pm, a clash was reported at Chandra Layout. District Commissioner of Police B Shivakumar and higher officials rushed to the spot, only to find that it was a rumour.

Panicked people in the area rushed to their homes and the police had to make use of loudspeakers to reassure them.More than 50,000 police personnel were deployed along with 150 DR-CAR platoons, 200 Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP) platoons and 12,000 home guards. No unpleasant incident was reported until 8 pm. Not only in Bangalore, the situation was peaceful across the state.

The Director General and Inspector General of Police were said to have ordered the junior police officers not to leave their designated place of guard.Most of the people struggled to get tea, coffee and cigarettes in busy areas like majestic and Shivajinagar. The KR Puram and Goripalya areas, which were termed sensitive, were also calm. In Shivajinagar, MLA Roshan Baig stationed himself near the beef market from 11 am to 7 pm to ensure peace in that area.

Police personnel struggled to keep peace despite the heat by taking refuge under shadows. High police alert was seen at temples and mosques.

Shankar Bidari, City Police Commissioner said, "No untoward incidents happened in the city, and all areas were calm. I appreciate people abiding by the laws."
