DHRUMIL Matkar's splendid bowling helped Lilavati Podar beat Jamnabai Narsee by an innings and 20 runs in the Plate Group of the MSSA-Giles Shield cricket tournament at Azad Maidan yesterday.

DHRUMIL Matkar's splendid bowling helped Lilavati Podar beat Jamnabai Narsee by an innings and 20 runs in the Plate Group of the MSSA-Giles Shield cricket tournament at Azad Maidan yesterday.

Podar put up a competitive score of 252, thanks to Dinesh Cheda's 56 and Hardul Donde's 51.

However, Jamnabai faltered in their reply after being bowled out for 56 runs in the first innings.

Asked to follow-on, the Juhu side were all out for 173. Left-arm spinner Dhrumil was the wrecker-in-chief with six wickets each in both innings for the Santacruz school.

Omprakash shines

In another match, V N Sule Guruji's Omprakash Jaiswal grabbed 10 wickets in a match to help his team defeat Swami Vivekanand (Borivli) by an innings and 258 runs.

Anjuman-I-Islam (CST) lost to Don Bosco (Matunga) on the basis of first innings lead.

Kshitij Dhuri'su00a0 all-round performance (50, 59 and three wickets) was the highlight of Bosco's supreme performance.
